Search for Items in Your Item List

To search for items, go to Catalog > Items. You can search for and filter items using the following options:

  • Search: Type a search text in the field. The text search looks for items with the search text in the name, print name, code, or barcode of the item.

  • Subgroup: View the items of all subgroups, select a specific item subgroup, or view items that do not belong to any subgroup. The child subgroups of the selected group are also included in the results.

  • Type: Use the drop-down list to filter items by type — Procedure, Medicine, Food, Supply, Laboratory analysis, or Laboratory analysis panel. Leave unselected to view all types.

  • Active and Archived: Select the check boxes to show active items, archived items, or both.

  • Wholesaler: View items associated with a specific wholesaler.

  • Last updated: Filter items by when they were last updated.

Note: Select all only selects the items shown on the current page. To select items on additional pages, navigate to each page and select them there — items already selected on other pages stay selected. For large-scale changes across many items, updating via file import can be faster — see Update Wholesaler Items From an Excel File.

TIP: You can also search for items using the Super Search. Select Search in the left navigation menu to open the search panel. This may be useful when you need to quote a price on an item quickly, for example, while on the phone with a client. The super search shows you the price of the item without having to open another window.

Select the Columns button to choose the columns to show in the list. For example, you can show the Print name column to see the name used on printed documents. To save your selected filters and columns so that the same selections are applied the next time you view the item list, select the settings button to the left of Columns, then select Save. The same menu has Reset to clear your saved selections and Refresh to reload the list.

You can select items by selecting the check box on each row, or the check box in the table header to select all items on the current page. When one or more items are selected, a bar appears above the table showing how many are selected, with menus for bulk actions: Pricing to edit the VAT group or sales price, Set visibility to archive, Group by to change the item subgroup, and Export selected to download or email the selected items. To edit or archive a single item instead, select the pen or archive button in the Actions column on that item's row.

To export the whole search result to an Excel file or send it by email, select an option from the Export menu at the top right of the page.
