Overview

Online booking includes email verification, and in certain instances, SMS verification to protect clinics and clients from spam and fraudulent bookings. This additional verification step helps ensure that appointment slots remain available for genuine clients. Note that the verification process differs between the Classic view and New design.

How Verification Works (new design)

  • Every booking begins with an email verification step (a 6-digit code sent to the client's email), which replaces the SMS verification.

  • After the client's email address is verified, Provet checks if the email address belongs to an existing client.

  • To protect your clinic from spam bookings, a daily new client cap is set.

Note

The daily new client cap defines how many new clients your clinic expects per day under normal circumstances. The default is set at 10.

You can configure the daily new client cap by navigating to Settings > Organization > Online booking > Maximum new client bookings per day.

  • If the new client daily cap is not reached, new clients only need to use email verification.

If the new client daily cap is reached, additional new clients are required to verify their phone number via SMS (in addition to email verification) by following these steps:

  1. In the Verify your phone number section of the online booking form, client enters a mobile phone number.

    Note

The phone number must belong to the same country as the department being booked. This helps prevent misuse across borders and ensures messages are delivered reliably. Verification codes are sent only to real mobile phone numbers. Landlines, VoIP numbers, and similar services are not supported.

  2. Client requests the code by selecting Send code. A one-time verification code will be sent to the client by SMS to the phone number provided.

    Note

The verification code expires after a short period and can be requested a limited number of times. Repeated failed attempts may result in a temporary block. If this happens in error, please contact support@provet.com

  3. Client enters the 6-digit code to verify their number and selects Verify.

  4. Once verified, clients can continue to book their appointment.

How SMS Verification Works (classic view)

In the Classic online booking view, clients verify their mobile phone number during the booking process.

  1. In the Owner information section of the online booking form, the client enters a mobile phone number.

    Note

The phone number must belong to the same country as the department being booked. This helps prevent misuse across borders and ensures messages are delivered reliably. Verification codes are sent only to real mobile phone numbers. Landlines, VoIP numbers, and similar services are not supported.

  2. Client selects Send verification code. A one-time verification code will be sent to the client by SMS to the phone number provided.
