A patient can have multiple owners: a primary client (owner) and a secondary owner. The secondary owner's details, their name and phone number, can be added to the primary client's page. This is typically used for a family pet to ensure there is an alternative contact person if the primary client is unavailable to deliver or collect the animal.
When a secondary owner is added you can search for the secondary owner's name in Records > Clients & Patients or using Super Search.
Add a Secondary Owner
To add a secondary owner's details:
Go to Records > Clients & Patients or use super search find the client who should be the primary owner.
Go to the client page and select the Client details tab.
Select the Edit button next to the Client details section title.
Enter the details in the Secondary owner first name and Secondary owner last name fields.
Add a phone number and mark it as the secondary owner's phone in the Description field.
Select Save.
Include Secondary Owner Name in Invoice Payer Information
It is possible to include the secondary owner's name on the invoice payer information if the setting is activated in your clinical location settings.
To enable this setting:
Go to Settings > General > Clinic Location > Invoices.
Select the Include secondary owner name in invoice payer information checkbox.
Select Save.
Note
You can only add a name, surname, and phone number for the secondary owner. It is not possible to add other client details, such as an address or ID number.
