[en] You can add a custom vital sign field by creating a new list. This is useful for tracking specific patient health metrics not included in the default vital sign options.

[en] Create the Patient Vital Sign Field

  1. [en] Go to Settings > Lists & Templates > Lists.

  2. [en] Select the Add list button, located in the upper right corner of the page.

  3. [en] From the Type drop-down menu, select one of the Patient status field options (1 through 12). Provet supports up to twelve custom patient status fields.

  4. [en] In the Name field, type a name for the field, such as "Pain Score" or "Hydration".

  5. [en] Select Save.

[en] Add Status Options to the Field

  1. [en] On the Lists & Templates > Lists page, select the name of the list you just created to open it.

  2. [en] Select the Add item button, located in the upper right corner of the page.

  3. [en] Type a Label for the status option (e.g., "Mild Pain" or "Well Hydrated"). You can also add an optional Code.

  4. [en] Select Save. Repeat this process for all status options you want to include in the list.

[en] Make the Field Visible on Consultations

[en] To make the new field available on consultation pages, you must add it to your clinic location settings.

  1. [en] On the Lists & Templates > Lists page, select the Activate button at the end of the row for your new list. The list must be active to be visible in your clinic location settings.

  2. [en] Go to Settings > Clinic location settings > Consultation status section fields. Find and select the custom patient status field you created.

  3. [en] Select Save.

Custom vital sign fields created in this way appear on the consultation page and in the patient's history. However, they do not automatically generate graphs in the Vitals tab on the patient's profile, unlike the default vital sign fields.
