Failed messages

When you send a message, the system displays a delivery status next to it. The possible statuses are:

  • Sent: The message was dispatched from Provet.

  • Delivered: The message reached the client successfully.

  • Failed: The system could not deliver the message.

If a message fails, a Failed indicator appears on the message. Select the indicator to resend the message.

Unknown senders

If an SMS arrives from a phone number that is not linked to a client record, the conversation displays the phone number instead of a client name. You can still read and reply to the message.

To create a client record for an unknown sender, select + Create client in the top-right corner of the conversation. When you create a client record, the system links the conversation to the new record.

FAQ

Can I send messages to multiple clients at the same time?

Conversations are one-to-one between the clinic and a single client. To send messages to multiple clients, use the SMS messaging tools available elsewhere in Provet.

Can appointment reminders appear in Conversations?

Transactional messages such as appointment reminders are routed through Conversations.

What happens if a client texts our clinic number?

The message will appear in your Conversations inbox automatically. If the phone number matches a known client, it will be linked to their record. If not, it will appear with the phone number displayed.

Can multiple staff members respond to the same conversation?

Yes. Any staff member can view and respond to any conversation. Each message will show which staff member sent it.

How do I know if my message was received?

Check the delivery status indicator next to your sent message. It will show whether the message was sent, delivered, or failed.

Is there a limit on message length?

Standard SMS limits apply. Messages over 160 characters will be sent as multi-part SMS messages, which is handled automatically.
