Requirements

To use the mobile app for inventory, the following conditions must be met:

  • The Enable mobile app setting must be turned on at the organisation level.

  • Users must have Stock (Read/Write) permissions.

Before you can use inventory in the mobile app, make sure you have downloaded the Provet mobile app and logged in. For instructions, see Log in to Mobile App.

Start an Inventory Check

You can start an inventory check from the Stock page to review and update item quantities in a specific location.

  1. Open the mobile app and tap the Stock icon.

  2. Tap Start inventory check.

  3. Select the stock location where you want to perform the count.

Once the inventory check is started, you can begin scanning items. The next steps depend on whether the item has a barcode associated with it.

Scan Items During an Inventory Check

When performing an inventory check, you can scan items to update their quantities. The steps differ depending on whether the item has a barcode.

Scan an Item Without a Barcode

If an item does not have a barcode associated with it, you can search for it by name and add a barcode at the same time as you update its stock count.

  1. Try scanning the item. If no barcode is associated, the mobile app displays the message: "Barcode not found."

  2. When this message appears, type the item name in the search bar above the warning message.

  3. From the search results list, tap the item to open its Inventory check page. On this page, you can add a barcode, adjust quantities, and save changes.

  4. On the Inventory check page, tap Add barcode.

    • A confirmation dialog appears asking you to confirm the barcode. Select Yes to save it.

  5. Adjust the Counted packages and/or Counted units if needed.

  6. Tap Save. A confirmation message appears to show that the stock count was updated.

Scan an Item With a Barcode

If the item already has a barcode associated with it, the mobile app recognises it immediately when you scan. You can adjust the quantity and save the update.

  1. Scan the item while performing the inventory check.

  2. On the Inventory check page, adjust the Counted packages and/or Counted units if needed.

  3. Tap Save. A confirmation message appears to show that the stock count was updated.

Manage Items With Multiple Batches

If an item has several batches, you can update the count for each batch separately during the inventory check.

  1. Start an inventory check, select the stock location and scan the item.

  2. On the Inventory check page, you will see each batch listed.

  3. For each batch, adjust the Counted packages and/or Counted units if needed. Tap Count and confirm.

  4. Tap Save once all batch information is updated.
