Record a consultation with AI Scribe to get a transcript and a clinical note written from the conversation. Review the clinical note and add it to the consultation.
Note: You can switch between the new and the old consultation page at any time from the top of the consultation page.
To use AI Scribe, you need:
the Enable AI Scribe setting turned on in the Clinical AI section under Settings > General > Clinic location
a microphone: the built-in microphone of your device, a USB microphone or a Bluetooth microphone
permission for the browser to record audio from the microphone
AI Scribe works in consultations with one patient. Consultations with several patients are not supported.
Supported Languages
AI Scribe writes the clinical note in the language of the user who records the consultation, or in the default language of the clinic location.

Start a Consultation with AI Scribe
AI Scribe can only write what it hears. Speak clearly and say findings and values out loud during the consultation.
Open a consultation and launch AI Scribe:
New consultation page: In the AI Scribe row, select Record.
Old consultation page: Select the AI Scribe button at the top right of the page.
Select a note template: SOAP Note, Narrative Note, or one of your clinic's clinical note templates for AI Scribe.
Optionally, select the microphone to use for recording from the drop-down list to the left of the record button. You can change the microphone after the recording has started.
Start the recording:
New consultation page: Select Record.
Old consultation page: Select Start Recording.
You can also record from the mobile app. See Use AI Scribe in the Mobile App.
If needed, you can pause the recording and resume it later:
New consultation page: Select the pause button, then select Resume to continue.
Old consultation page: Select Pause recording, then select Resume recording to continue.
Select Done. AI Scribe creates the transcript and the clinical note, and you can review them right away.
If you want to discard the recording and start again, select the button with three dots next to Transcription and select Start over. Starting over deletes the recording and the transcript.
Note: Always review AI responses before making a clinical decision.
Switch the Note Template in AI Scribe
You can select a different note template during or after the recording. AI Scribe then writes the clinical note again from the same recording, in the structure of the new note template.
New consultation page: Select a different template from the drop-down list in the AI suggested note section.
Old consultation page: Select the note name in the AI Scribe dialog, then select a different template from the summary template drop-down list.
Resume an AI Scribe Recording
To continue recording a consultation and add more information:
Reopen the consultation and relaunch AI Scribe:
New consultation page: Select Resume.
Old consultation page: Select Transcription complete or Recording paused, select the button with three dots, then select Resume recording.
Say the new clinical findings or updates. AI Scribe writes a new version of the clinical note with both the new and the earlier information.
Note: You can resume a recording for 60 minutes. After 60 minutes, AI Scribe deletes the recording.
Add AI Scribe Notes to a Clinical Note
After you review the transcript and the AI Scribe note, add the AI Scribe note to a clinical note.
Select Done when the recording is complete.
Review the transcription and generated note.
Select Add to clinical note to save the content as a clinical note.
Note: The transcript is available for 24 hours only. To save it, add it to a clinical note.
AI Actions
AI Actions is part of AI Scribe. AI Actions suggests clinical actions from the consultation recording, for example medicines, procedures, diagnoses and vital signs. Review the suggestions and add them to the consultation. See Use AI Actions in Consultations.
Provide Feedback on AI Scribe Results
You can rate the quality of each AI Scribe note. Your feedback helps improve AI Scribe over time.
To rate an AI Scribe note:
Open the AI Scribe results after the recording is complete.
Select the thumbs-up or thumbs-down button next to the AI Scribe note.
Select the thumbs-up button if the AI Scribe note is accurate and useful.
Select the thumbs-down button if the AI Scribe note contains errors or is missing important information.
Your feedback is saved automatically. You can change your rating within 24 hours of submitting it.
Note: The feedback you submit is anonymous and is used only to improve the quality of AI Scribe-generated content. It does not change the AI Scribe note.
