When you create a boarding reservation, separate appointments are created for check-in and check-out based on the check-in and check-out times added in the reservation. The appointments and boarding consultations are processed in a similar way to other appointments and consultations.

Boarding Calendar

On the Calendar > Boarding page, you can view all boarding reservations for all boarding locations. You can select a day, week, or month view on the calendar.

To view the details of a specific reservation, select the reservation in the calendar. A pop-up window shows the client, patient, boarding location, reason types for the check in and check out appointments, and the check-in and check-out times. You can also view upcoming reservations by selecting the patient's name in the pop-up window. The reservations are listed under the Appointments sections in both the Patient Details and Client Details tabs.

You can also add day notes to the boarding calendar.

In the boarding calendar, appointments are colour-coded to indicate their status:

  • Gray (Upcoming): The appointment is scheduled and not yet active.

  • Yellow (Overdue/Unchecked-In): The appointment's scheduled time has passed, but the patient has not been checked in. Note: The yellow colour will appear lighter (reduced opacity) after the scheduled checkout time has also passed.

  • Blue (In Progress): The patient has been checked in and the appointment is currently active.

  • Purple (Ready for Discharge): The patient is ready for checkout and discharge from the facility.

  • Light Gray (Discharged/Complete): The patient has been checked out and discharged, and the boarding event is complete.

Dashboard

On the Patient care > Dashboard page, you can view all boarding reservation check-in and check-out appointments under Scheduled appointments.

From the dashboard, you can check the patient in for boarding using the check-in appointment. When a patient has been checked in, the boarding event is shown under Recent consultations. The related check-out appointment remains under Scheduled appointments until you are ready to check the patient out.

Appointment Calendar

The check-in and check-out appointments are also shown in the appointment calendar in the same way as other appointments.
