This article lists the network, browser, operating system, and hardware requirements for running Provet. Check your setup against these requirements if Provet is running slowly, or before you buy new computers for your clinic.

Provet does not require large download speeds, but the stability of the connection is important. We recommend at least 5 Mbps of bandwidth per simultaneous user, with average latency below 150 ms. For example, if your clinic has up to 10 users using Provet simultaneously through the same network connection, we recommend at least a 50 Mbps connection. You can easily check your speed from Fast.com, for example. Ideally, a clinic should use a fast and stable fiber connection, but the system also works with stable WiFi and 4G (or above) data connections.

The system has been developed to be used with Chromium-based browsers, which means Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Both are fully supported. Provet also works on other browsers but may show some errors or warnings.

In terms of operating systems, we recommend options that support these browsers and have proper support from their providers regarding regular security updates. Commonly used systems such as Windows 11 and macOS are recommended (see more below).

Note: When using Provet on an Apple mobile device with Google Chrome, you may still see a warning about the browser not being recommended. This is because currently the official Chrome version that is available on iOS and iPadOS is not fully based on the original Google Chrome.

Provet works best on modern desktop and laptop computers that can run the latest versions of the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser. To see the latest Chrome system requirements, see Google Chrome system requirements.

Provet also works on mobile devices such as tablet computers and smartphones but is not yet optimized for them. For phones and tablets, use the Provet mobile app instead. For the requirements of the app, see Provet Mobile App System Requirements.

Windows 10 reached the end of Microsoft support on 14 October 2025 and is no longer a supported platform for Provet. If your clinic is still running Windows 10, plan that upgrade first, before you replace any hardware.

* The recommendation is commonly used in typical clinic setups. If the recommended resolution does not work well for you, try to adjust your browser window size or browser zoom. You can also try a different resolution, for example, 2560x1440 on a 27-inch monitor.

The monitor width that matters is the usable width, not the size of the screen. If Windows display scaling is set above 100%, the usable width falls by the same proportion. A 1920-wide monitor at 150% scaling behaves like a 1280-wide one. This is the most common reason a large screen still feels cramped, so check the scaling setting before you consider new hardware.
