You can view Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) directly in your Chrome browser using the Microsoft online viewer. This allows you to view file contents without downloading the file to your device.
Prerequisites:
The file format of the attachment must be a Microsoft Office format, e.g. .docx, .xlsx, .pptx
View Attachments on the Client Page
You can access and view attachments directly from the Communication tab.
Open the client page and go to the Communication tab.
Under Notes & Communication > Attachments select the Microsoft Office document you want to view. The document opens in your browser.
To view the attachment from the View note dialogue:
You can also view documents when you access the details of a specific note.
Select the title of the note and the View note dialogue opens.
In the View note dialogue, you can view the file in your browser by selecting the eye button, or save the file by clicking the download button.
To view the attachment from the Edit note dialogue:
When you select the pen button, the edit note dialogue opens.
In the Edit note dialogue, you can view the file in your browser by selecting the eye button.
To save the file to your device, select the download button.
Select the trash button to delete the attachment.
Select Save to save all changes you have made.
View Attachments in Patient History and Consultations
Microsoft Office documents are also available in the patient history and consultation views.
Go to Records > Clients & Patients or click the patient name anywhere else it is available. On the patient page, open the History tab. Select the file name. If it is a Microsoft Office file, it opens in the browser.
In the Consultation page, go to Consultation details > Connected notes and select an attachment to open the View note dialogue. Select the eye button to view the file or the download button to save it.
