This guide explains how to delete an invoice. Once an invoice is finalised, it cannot be deleted; you must issue a Credit Note instead. You will also learn how to differentiate between a draft invoice and a finalised invoice.
To delete a draft counter sale invoice:
Open the Counter Sale invoice.
Select the Delete button at the bottom left of the page.
Confirm the deletion.
To delete a Draft Invoice Linked to a Consultation:
If a draft invoice is linked to a consultation, you must first delete the items on the consultation. To remove the draft invoice, you also need to delete the consultation.
To delete consultation items:
Go to the consultation page.
From the Tools menu at the top of the consultation page, select Delete consultation items.
In the window that opens, follow the steps to delete all items.
After deleting the consultation items, you have two options:
Delete the Consultation: If your permissions and settings allow, you can delete the empty consultation.
Select Tools again.
Select Delete consultation.
Finalise the Invoice with a Zero Balance: This action closes the invoice as an empty receipt. This option is useful if you have notes on the consultation but do not want to charge the client. Note that this does not delete the invoice itself.
Finalised Invoices
Once an invoice has been finalised, it cannot be deleted from Provet. Instead, you must issue a credit note. For detailed steps on how to do this, see Credit note documentation.
Check Invoice Status (Draft or Finalised)
To determine if an invoice is a draft or finalised:
Go to the invoice page.
Check the top left corner of the page.
If you see the word "Draft", the invoice is a draft.
If you see an invoice number, the invoice has been finalised.
Note
Permanent Deletion: Note that once draft invoices are deleted, they cannot be recovered. Always double-check the invoice details before confirming any deletion.
