Automatic logout settings prevent unauthorised access by logging users out of their Provet sessions after a period of inactivity. You can configure automatic logout settings in Settings > Clinic Location > Auto-logout.

Configure Automatic Logout

To enable and configure automatic logout:

  1. Go to Settings > Clinic Location > Auto-logout.

  2. Select the Enable automatic logout checkbox.

  3. Enter the number of minutes in the Automatic logout time limit in minutes field.

  4. Select Save.

Provet displays a warning message before a user is logged out.

You can also enable the following options:

  • Automatic logout after closing the browser: Logs users out when they close their browser or a specific tab.

  • Disable automatic logout when a modal or form is open: Prevents a user from being logged out while they are in the middle of a task, such as filling out a form.

Set Up Auto-logout Groups

You can set different auto-logout times for different users by assigning an auto-logout time to specific personnel groups. First, you must set up the personnel groups in Settings > General > Users > Personnel groups.

For users who need a long session, such as those used for dashboard screens, you can assign them to a personnel group with a long or disabled auto-logout time. If a user belongs to multiple personnel groups, the longest configured logout time will apply.

To set up an auto-logout group:

  1. Go to Settings > Clinic location > Auto-logout.

  2. Select the Add button. A dialogue opens.

  3. Select the Personnel group from the drop-down list.

  4. Add Automatic logout time limit in minutes.

  5. Select Save.

To edit or delete an auto-logout group, use the pen button or the trash bin button at the end of the row.
